Translation (In Transit)

A kitchen mishap sends a young woman on an errand to fix a recipe and her relationship with language and identity. Something I’ve struggled with my whole life is defining identity and how identity is tied to understanding a certain language - in my case being Latina and struggling with Spanish. For the longest time, I felt I wasn’t “allowed” to claim being Latina because I didn’t grow up speaking Spanish. This short film hopes to capture that anxious intersection of language and identity.
